Not So Hot Toy : Fushigi Gravity Ball

While we like to keep a positive spin (pun intended, as you’ll see below) on this site, occasionally we have to point out the “pet rock” of the moment.

This seasons winner : the Fushigi Gravity Ball

If you’re considering buying one of these for yourself or as a present, you would do well to read the comment(s) below and these reviews first (click here).

The Fushigi Gravity Ball is effectively marketing a skill – which requires tons of practice – by telling the public that the result is produced by the product itself.

It’s called ‘contact juggling’ and while it’s a really cool thing to watch, you can do the same thing with any solid sphere. Youtube has videos of people using a baseball and an orange to achieve the very same illusion you see on Fushigi ball commercials.

There’s probably a great number of people who think that the Fushigi company has overcome the principles of gravity and put it into some magic ball. This “toy” is a classic example of ‘fools and their money…’

If you buy the Fushigi Gravity Ball, and you’re expecting the results to be as-seen-on-tv, you’d better be prepared to invest an awful lot of time and practice in learning the art itself. There is nothing magic about the Fushigi ball and you will not be able to ‘make it float’ just by buying one.

Definitely don’t frustrate your kids under 10 with this product.
